Her Life

Sadness visits me on days
when her life seeks expression.
My friends will come and speak
with light heart. I hardly notice

when they leave, I am so unmoved.
The life-bearing feelings that
sadness brings to my house may look
like an unhealthy visitor.

The longing for rest, the need
for great spaciousness;
wonderfully, you bring the sweetness
of your intent, so that I may offer care.

What prospers is rare, but
intangible. Love, you stretch
yourself out in front of me in
moods that teach me to accept.
