Autumn Sky

“From Van Gogh”.

A new cloud autumn sky
erases the steadfast blue.
Many tiny pillows sweep
with hulking, beastly puffs.

Half a giraffe
steps into the hip of a hippopotamus.
A coiled snake strikes
the head of a dancing horse.

A real tree on a real hill
bottle brushes below
an angel wing.

This October
presence is really something.

My favorite time of year, when the colors and shapes in nature look like poetry to me. Thanks for reading, SmileCalm!
