Angry Letter

I slid a letter into the box
and thought the carrier would pick it up.
I changed my mind in the midst of night
and wished to go tear it apart.

The truck didn’t show the following day
where my envelope so quietly lay.
I forgot on Sunday nothing goes,
and am saved from angry vows.
