Genealogy

My genealogy
was sitting in a tree.
The way that it found me:
through sap running free.

The roots of it all
is what I’d like to know.
The spirit of this ball
continues in me to flow.

The blossoms come in spring
and fade in summer heat.
The concern for my end
will leave me stinking meat.
